Why do they keep coming up with this stupid idea? (like for the last 50 years at least) The steering wheel is used as over decades it has been found to be the best way of controlling a vehicle, partly because a fairly large movement of the steering wheel relates to a small movement of the front wheels. Also you can take one hand off to use other controls. Take one hand off the joystick and you're in trouble.

That isn't a new car, it's really old - isn't it the F200 concept from many years back (1996 springs to mind)?

I think that's the concept that the last generation S-Class and CL were based on.........
