I recently purchased a 2000 (W)C230 Kompressor Sport saloon (auto) which is described in the log book as being green-black in colour. Oh, no it isn't! It's a dark blue metallic colour. I suspect this colour probably has a fancy name and a number?

Is there a website someplace that displays the range of M-B car colours and is it posible to obtain small files of the appropriate paint colour to treat stone chips, etc.?

REGARDS Phil

PS - I've checked with the DVLA and my car is registered as dark blue, it's not been resprayed. Where the 'green-black' description came from I have no idea. A quirk with M-B colour description, perhaps?

It is probably.....Midnight Blue......
Dont know without seeing

Do a search on autotrader for class between £5000 and £12000 and you can look at some photos to help you find yours

From my recolection Green/Black looks like a very dark blue with a hint of purple in it...ie; it looks nothing like what you would expect Green/Black to look like.

Mercs have got some very strange idea's of what paint shades look like!

Funny one that, my Peugeot is booked as green, but the colour is a metallic blue. No dodges or resprays, have it since new.

Go into your nearest MB Dealership, They will be able to tell ya what your colour is just by putting it into there magical Computer.

Give them the reg number and all your magical details including extras when it was in its original state when it was born.....

Get some more female MB saleswomen (only 1 in 200)

2008 E 500 A/G Classic colour combination.
Colour

Back in 1998 a friend bought a E300 TD in this colour Green / Black collected it from the factory and until he showed me the V5 I insisted that he had a car some one else had orded. My current E is Violine (Spelling) and it is the same to my eye as the green / black was back in 98 dark metalic blue. Strange names for easily describeable colours.
As an aside when my old E 240 solid blue had a bumper scuff repaired the paint for about 3 coats looked VERY green and then next coat a perfect match.

I've just had a brand new C220 corporate demonstrator that was described as 'Black', but it certainly looked (to me, and other people I asked) very dark blue.

A Russian M-B Club ... in English!

Thanks david1500

Found the 'Russian Club' website OK, but the VIN number it requests must have 17 characters. My car has 15.

Fallen at the first hurdle.

green black

It almost certainly is green black. My previous SL was green black but was described in the log book as "Black".
Green black is a merc colour that looks deep blue/black/deep green depending on conditions, perspective and personal opinion.

green-black or maybe blue

Hi nickgoldstone

That's interesting. I can't say I've every noticed green but dark blue and dark grey (graphite) might be alternative descriptions of my car's colour.

Mine is black. metallic black. i am still wodnering why i shelled out £600 to have metal dust added to the paint. surely i should have stayed with my skinflint roots and gone for the solid black and had £600 left over in the bank?
