December 1993. It's actually a very nice car that had been driven by a succession of nannies for the last 4 or 5 years and had never been cleaned. It had lots of history but not much loving care, so is fundamentally sound but in need of some TLC

So the indicator lenses had been upgraded then - "clear" evidence of the TLC! :wink:

Very unusual to see one with 5 gear auto, normally 4 gear auto for that age. Remember reading the comments it said the last owner was a policeman.

I think it was listed in 1992 price lists but some 1991 cars had it. I've driven a 1991 AMG 3.4-24 with a 5-speed and sold a 1992 300-24 valve with one

Thank you Nick,,yes it was offered with the 24 valve engine I do have a price list somewhere,,I was not to sure of the year

don't they all. Seen loads of gleaming mercs with black bright tarnished stars. Real shame, as the star really sets the car off and 30 secs with a bit of chrome polish works wonders.

That guy so excited he forgot. He got a whole array of Auto-Glym bottles on the background. It not finished. Didn't you hear he said "See how it goes with my daily 600 miles a week"? He is so fascinated with the ride than anything else than with the proud star.

What I don't understand the engine is similar to my W202. I had a W201 and this is the engine I expected to see under the bonnet. So Merc was selling W210 and W124 in parallel until 2000.

No, it's the final full facelift version, seen on late L-reg to N reg.
