thicker engine oil

my c200 sport has 122,000 miles on it and i used castrol magnetic in it 10/40 ive being told that i need to start puting thicker oil in it as it has high milleage so im looking for some help in choosing the right typpe of oil for it can anyone point me in the right direction please

Why not stick to the fully synthetic that mileage is not high, one only uses a thicker oil when the car burns oil and not before

As per Malcolm I use fully synthetic in mine at over 165,000 miles now. Consumption is minimal.

I thought Magnetec was a semi synthetic.

That thicker oil is only thicker when cold and is not as good at lubricating as the nice modern stuff at any temperature, as per others stick to the good stuff.
