Yes it does look like the SLR.

The current 2008 facelifted SL, how long before we can expect a newer model? I will be possibly looking to change my car next year and have my eye on the current SL. But don't want to buy one if the shape will change in a couple of years....

Yeah, it looks very nice.... I sat in one at my local dealers on the weekend, driving position is great also.

I really like the new/facelift SL. my only encounter being the sl63 at brooklands and it looked, sounded and drove fantastically.

I prefer the round headlight version myself. I find the styling on modern Mercs to be trying too hard, and I'm not sure if the bonnet bulges are necessary but either way it looks like the bonnet has been slammed too hard onto something underneath (like a dealer did to mine once!)

I prefer the one that got away..its a softer look rather nearer the "old" R230

Even if it is a bit effeminate (according to Merc Enthusiast)?

I read that article, thought it was quite good. I can see why the more curvier version would be seen as more effeminate than a sharpe angeled aggresive looking car.
