I was on the way back from York yesterday seen a grey s class coupe same as my colour just not a blacked out. The rear tints looked good matched the car. Anyone done them? Tempted to get some and see, can always take them off I guess.

Used to have a C63...
Couple of Corsa-esque sheds around here with them, so dark you can barely make out the tail lights unless it's full night.

Not just insurance, but local RPUs seem to be having a say about dodgy mods, too. (Big presence on social meedja from various regions publicising it).

Why do you want to make your brake lights and indicators harder to see?

As mentioned I'm sure insurance companies will take a dim view too.
I see what you did there… @Dean Fletcher unfortunately won’t be able to through with his 98% tints…:p

Just got a quote for tinting the rear windows on the s211..... half the price of having my Jag done, for more windows
Won't be doing anything to the lights though

I'm very tempted to have my non Merc rear lights done..... as the film would seal them and discourage condensation, which kills the £1k rear lights on the XJ

Sounds like a plan.

Oh my god no!
The tint is purely a security measure, as swmbo has this annoying habit of leaving handbags, shopping and generally popular items for thieves on the back seat or in the boot without the cover over it - blacked out rears will hide her idiocy and save me the cost of a window etc

wouldn't is be cheaper to get rid of swmbo.

See your point mind. My W251 has factory blacked out from the B pillar onwards. The kids always leave their headphones etc lying about and dvds.
