Hello,
We have a 2004 R170 which is in very good condition, low mileage etc. It has been a super reliable motor but now alas we are seeing some low level corrosion in areas around the wheel arches,i.e the inner lip and up front, on the leading edge where it meets the bumper.
Obviously the market value of this car isnt that much so the dilemma is what to do, how much might it cost and where to take it.
We are in Manchester.
To me there are a few solutions;
Do nothing and just squirt all areas with waxoyl or similar to lock out Oxygen and hopefully arrest its progress.
Sell/trade in the car
Get it treated. But would it be a lasting solution, what could be done, how long would it last and how much is it likely to cost ? I think all four archas need cleaning down,treating and repainting. I'd say its low level at the moment maybe 3 or 4 /10
Thanks all
