Hi,
I'm taking the seats out of an W169 A180, and I cannot get this plug undone. It's under the seat. I have managed to remove part of the outer casing but the male part will not come loose. It's taken three hours to get this far... I'm tackling the A-class flooded interior problem which has messed up the COMAND system and possibly the ESP, so it would be good to remove the carpets and get it all dried out first.

Does anyone know how to release it?
Cheers
Dan

Try pushing the plug into the socket before pressing the tabs and pulling it off.

Thanks everybody.

I might be missing something here, but I watched that video of the guy removing the seat and he seems to shove a screwdriver down one side and then pulls it apart, which I have tried.

Help me out - where's the tab and which bit do I lift?

Try having a good look at this site :-

Seat mat emulator Mercedes - installation

Don't use screwdrivers, cut a piece of old plastic Card (Credit/Debit?Loyalty) if a shim is needed.

Some connectors its a matter of releasing the tab that locks them together then gently prizing the male and female connectors apart.

Looks like there are things (more than one) to unhook

Thanks for the link - unfortunately it only shows how to undo the yellow occupancy sensor connector, not this one. The guy in the only video that shows this thing being disconnected appears to lift a locking tab from where the seat belt buckle wiring plugs in, but there just isn't anything to lift.

Maybe post say four photos of the connector from different angles, someone might recognise it.

I've given up. Taken it to two garages and neither could fathom it. In the end I cut the carpet and pulled the seat forward to give enough clearance.
