Should this be in 'bodywork, wheels & trim'?
However -- the tilt function of my sunroof has worked fewer times than fingers on one hand in the last year, despite almost daily tries and I always suspected a faulty switch. Never any problem with the sliding mode. Last week I had occasion to change the steering wheel, which involved the disconnection of the red coloured ten-pole connector under the panel in the passenger footwell, which has to do with the airbag. Before re-connection, as always on any electrical terminal I find on a MB I used spray contact cleaner on this terminal block and presto, I've cured the tilt malfunction! Works faithfully every time now, and I really have been giving it an opportunity not to work!
Someone may find this info. useful.
As an aside, I was amazed at the quantity of carbon dust under the steering wheel from the slip ring brushes. I must have removed about a half-teasponful. Surprised this hasn't caused a few electrical glitches.
