Looking to replace our trusted 2007 c class 220 cdi estate from new with only 356k miles on the clock!
This was the last edition of the class w203 before the w204 entered service.
She has serviced us well
Budget is £5-7k
Mileage will be 10 k ish
Need estate as run around, wonder what people’s thoughts for a replacement.
Stick with w203 or move to a w204.

Wow. That has been a workhorse and a half. I would love to hear what has been required over the years to get that many miles or was it just constant use?

Me personally I would keep the current car if it is still fine. You know its history well and I dont think you would get much for it.

Decent effort! Seen a fair bit higher in taxis on holiday but those places don’t have our grim weather to contend with.

I would have trouble replacing my old diseasel. I wouldn’t want a newer diesel as they became a PITA to run. I don’t like Merc 4cyl petrols.

Curve ball - I noticed loads of W204 & 212 V6 petrols on the Japanese auction sites!

I would stick with the 646 if buying a C220 again. The 651 in the later 204’s isn’t as good.

^ +1 stick with another W203 with the earlier engine which I assume is EU4 emissions there will still be lowish miles examples around

Nothing is perfect and there are a few things to watch out for and desirable must haves with the optional extras .

Pros and cons , duplex vs simplex timing chain issues 9 out of 10 isn't with the actual chain itself .

Output differences and much more to consider .

Holy mother.....

Thankfully some of us are decades into an automotive career !

The S204 has been for sale for some time .

Stay away from Artico fake leather .

Front discs are heavily worn.

Horrifically rusty or worst colour paint job ever all 4 calipers .

The n/s/f Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 5 has rim protector sidewall damage and already refurbished alloy rim damage .

The rather nice diamond cut wheel referbishment may last 5 minutes .

The rear windows are chav tinted not desirable privacy glass .

And he's lost the rear Team Hako... probably blew off .
