Timing chain or belt

Hi Guys,

As the title suggests, I would welcome advice from the more knowledgable forum members than myself as to wether my 02 Vaneo 1.6 has a timing chain or timing belt?,

The Engine no is 16696130567777

Mileage at the moment is 55K approx and 7yrs old so would like to know prior to due time of belt change if needed.

A chain young man, the number that you have put up is the serial number and not the engine type, but still a chain

Hi Television,

I have a Vaneo, 2002, 1.9 Petrol manual that I'm thinking to get a timing chain replacement due to noises coming from the timing chain area.

Do you have some guides on this?

I have done a timing belt change on Skoda before, suspension replacement...etc. So I'm considering doing this myself .
