Hi Everyone.

Had head off 1994 300d with 250k miles recentlyto cure a combined overheating and oil in water problem. All back together successfully yesterday with nice new radiator fitted although with slight rattle on start up. Did about 200 miles just running around, then suddenly just stopped on the motorway. AA recovery membership came in very handy for once.

Engine turns over but chain and cams etc dont. Dont think chain has broken. What else could it be?? Ideas please!!

aye , the 'slight rattle' should of been checked out before doing that long run , shouldnt have any noises like that after a rebuild imo.
