Hello everyone. I recently overhauled My Mercedes Benz W211 E220, 2006 OM646. And I cant get the car to Start. It Cranks but doesnt Start. Fuel Rail Pressure Okay, Compression all Good, Heater Plugs All Good But I wont start. So I'm thinking I might messed up the Timing. Anyone with the Proper Guideline for OM646 with the defined Timing marks I should follow?. Kindly share. Much appreciated.

Hey, unfortunately can’t help with timing marks. I’m interested to hear more details on what you completed in your overhaul? If you have good compression I suspect the timing is likely to be okay. Could be something as simple as a crankshaft or camshaft position sensor.

Hey, Yes I did. Complete Overhaul and the Engine is so smooth and Powerful. I have done more than 1500 Kilometres since completion and Dealing wit Leakages from Coolants to Exhaust to Compression. But I have dealt with Almost all. Nozzle Injector Leakage and I'm all good.

Just one problem, when the Engine is Kicking from Cold Start I get a Very Rough/Miss Idle for like 70Seconds before it settles down, Cant Figure out why upto now.

And then 2nd My Engine seems to be Running Between 90-95-100°c cant figure out why yet.

I hope you had a wonderful Holiday. Happy New Year 2021.

My w213 e220d had a fault camshaft sensor bank 1 fault. I bought a new one but still engine only cranked didn't come on. When on star diagnostics everything was green, there was compression etc apart from timing which was not synchronised so assuming mine chain will need to be replaced

Afternoon,

Just out of interest did you buy an official camshaft sensor from Mercedes?

The reason I ask is the fact I replaced a faulty camshaft sensor previously and an aftermarket one didn’t work 80% of the time. As soon as I fitted an OEM part it fired up first time and not fault since.

I bought a genuine Mercedes benz one which was actually a bosch part
