To buy or not to buy?

After the help I got here recently, I think I've found something...Mercedes dealer used C220CDi esprit, 99/T, 53000 miles, plus alloy wheels and CD player, £13000. I haven't test driven it yet but should do later this week. it's the dealer's ex-demo car, one owner. As it has alloy wheels I can see the brake discs which have some rust on them. Any comments (gratefully received as usual)?

It's quite unusual for dealers to keep demo cars beyound 6 - 12 months? After that they no longer represent the new model.

(A light coating of rust on the discs may be quite normal for a car that has been outside and has not been used for a week or so.)

Dont worry about the disks as I believe their cast iron and will show a rust straight after wetting the disk.

I know my disc's turn ginger almost straight away after washing the car.

Just make sure all the rust has gone after a test drive.

53000 miles ex Demo???? Phone another dealer and say you have this car for sale, and find out how much you are offered. Then split the difference and offer the selling dealer a lower price.

Might be too late, but that price doesn't seem too bad (if it's an estate!)....

As Arnie and Paul have already written don't worry about the discs, as soon as you touch the brake pedal the pads will 'clean' the rust off.

I would say try to deal him and go for it! they're cracking cars.
