To slip, or not to slip, that is the question...

Can anyone tell me the easiest way to establish whether my 1991 W126 420SE has a Limited Slip Differential (any markings, jack it up and spin one wheel)?

I'm going to change the oil, which differs depending on whether it's LSD or not.

Jacking it up and spinning one wheel is one test - the other wheel should contra-rotate as I recall

I suppose the other two are to call a dealer with your VIN number and ask them, or the obvious test - nail it on a slippery surface and see if both rear wheels spin!

I see someone else has mentioned it in the 'Bodywork, wheels and trim' section, and indeed have provided a link for you to use.

Go there and use that, you will be impressed.
