Haven't used TP Hindhead but have used TP Basingstoke fro many years. Nine out of 10 I'd say.

Thanks Omni. We have ordered an E320CDi a/gde estate, Obsidian with black leather. Went a bit bonkers on the spec but they are all options we use. Got the full ventilated comfort seats, lux climate, comand, airmatic, intelligent lights, 7 seat, CD, TV, a/bags in rear, Parktronic, phone, elec bootlid. Left the sunroof off as didn't want to overdo it..............Bought it from Mark. Very nice chap and like the feel of the place. TP Gford have been a bit slow with us and didn't really seem bothered to sell us a car. Also gave us a poor px value on our 911, which I've sold privately now anyway. I don't like the location or the parking at Guildford either.

Gonna get it from the factory too. How exciting. Am now tempted by an S600 L to tide me over................

I've thought about this, if I could get my mileage down I would love to have one for a year. http://www.mercedes-benzofgloucester.co.uk/gdlist?template=/mb05/hitlist&make=26&priceto=9999999&yearfrom=1&yearto=2100&mileageto=999999&franchise=26&dgroup=120&c_dealer=1637&pn=11&lang=en&country2=GB&searchtype=matrix&model4=230&model4=232&model4=1847&model4=4179&model4=850&model4=4180&model4=235&model4=4181&model4=667&model4=4182&model4=236&model4=2972&bodystyle4=1&bodystyle4=1&bodystyle4=1&bodystyle4=1&bodystyle4=1&bodystyle4=1&bodystyle4=1&bodystyle4=1&bodystyle4=1&bodystyle4=1&bodystyle4=1&bodystyle4=1&starthit=0#
4th one down on the above link would be nice, £29K 24K miles and a years warranty. How much would you lose over a year and 20K miles?
The only problem I could see is that after the year I would not want to go back to a lesser car. Although after the year I would be paranoid that something would fail.

Why do that to me Blobcat? Why?

The Colchester/Beckenham schlepp is almost finished and i'll be taking the train to London. It would of course make no sense whatsover for me to get rid of the ML and go for an S - have driven a couple and do not need this sort of temptation placed in front of me ;)

Here's another one http://www.mercedes-benzlondon.co.uk/used-cars/UsedCarSearch/Details.aspx?vid=1428814 although I would not be quite as happy with this one. 17,500 miles in 6 years is <3K p.a. Wonder how long it spent in the (MB) garage in those 6 yrs. Still with a years MB warranty what could go wrong ;)
When looking for a new car for my wife I found a fully loaded S600, just 3yrs old and £23.5K from an MB dealer. I made the mistake of showing it to my son, he was very unhappy when my wife bought an Accord instead. He was looking forward to the comfort ventilated seats, playstation, DVD player and his own climate contols that the was in the 600.

TP have a silver 53 plate 600 L Bi turbo coming in. 25000 miles, black leather, 1 owner, all options inc AMGs, fridge etc etc. 42500 quid. According to Glasses guide, a standard car trades at 38000 with 36k miles, so this one is about right on price. And it loses about 450 quid a month.
Tell me that isn't the bargain of the year. 500 HP, and 60 grand less than new!!!

Checking valuations the depreciation is between £5,500 & £10,000 for the year and 20,00 miles on an S600. Not great but less than a lot of new cars.
Factor in 15mpg so around £5,879 for fuel. ~£2,000 for 1 service & 4 Tyres equates to 39ppm or 89ppm including £10K depreciation.
