Top 3 Real World Cars

OK, here's another one. I sometimes imagine I maintain the same lifestyle (ie carry on in the same job, live in the same house have the same wife, baby and passtimes) EXECPT I have mysterious well of money which I can only spend on three cars. Which of course in my case have to live in the street. In central-ish London. So no Mclaren F1's, Lambo's etc. Here's what I'd have

(1) C55 Estate Nurburgring Edition with Kleeman Supercharger
replaces C43, useable round town, good for baby clobber, handy for trips to Norfolk, etc

(2) BMW 1 Series Hartge V8 5.0ltr
replaces Clio - 4 doors, room for baby seat and shopping, fits in John Lewis and Waitrose underground car parks. Extremely ugly but insane

(3) SLK 55 with Kleeman Supercharger
Because I am in touch with my feminine side.

still, with a bottomless pit of money i would have:

1 Bristol Fighter. just the best car ever.
2. SL 65AMG. May as well have the slinkymobiles big Gay brother
3. Paris Hiltons' Pink Pick-Up installed with Her as the feature Option. Because I would like to be in touch with her feminine side.

Or
3,a. Any Aston Martin. Come to that any Bentley Speed Six.

I want a thatched cottage with roses around the door in the heart of the Devon countryside with a nice pub just down the road that serves lovely food so that I don't have to bother cooking :-D

Well, you wouldn't be able to drive your dream cars down here, it rains too much, and the roads are full of tourists and incomers !

IMHO of course, as a resident of Devon. ;-)

Hmmm I will have to ask my sister, she regularly goes down to her cottage near Okehampton for the weekend in her Mercedes CDI

hahahahaha. well i shall let you into a secret. I live 2miles from a city centre. and they have the cheek to call it rural so we dont get broadband and stuff, and the insurance companies charge a fortune as its a city centre postcode, not that we have trouble as such. but they dont care. they just charge away. Even the city council charge more than our illustrious neighbours for council tax, even tho we get the same service. all because they claim its rural and a backwater. tip, more like. then they go and spend £1m on importing a beach to the city centre for a week, just so those who dont have the means, can see sand. it would be cheaper to hire a few buses and drive them the 70miles in either direction to whichever coast they fancy.

next year we are getting a troupe of panda bears for the local who can't afford to go see one. Polar bears the year after and then we are looking at getting some Ice for those who cant make it to the north pole.

one day we may even get some sun!!! drone drone blah blah,

2mins from my house is the start of the yorkshire dales. 3mins is the pennine way. good place to drive cars, plus you get full city centre amenities also on your door step. it is good being able to walk down the road into forest tho.

top three "real world" cars would have to be

1, AMG E55 estate - 2 kids and two dogs means we need lots of space

2, Ruf Porsche for kid and dog free days

3, our current E320 W124 but with the mosselmann bi turbo kit

As for a "dream house", maybe we'd like to move another 500 yards or so further south if we found the ideal house on the seafront other than that, life is good where we are

Getting back to the cars......

1) Properly sorted, completely original Mk1 Golf GTI in black
2) Mercedes W124 230TE with 7 seats, for the kids/dogs/shopping/practicality/etc
3) Aston Martin V8 or similar.

Already got 2, 1 to go.....
