Ref T210, I have got the towbar fitted now and I plan to install the electrics.

I have been told by the dealer, that there is a pre drilled hole to the left of the number plate under the bumber some where.

Can someone advise of how to access it without removeing the bumber so that I can thread the cable through?

Have W210 estate with the factory prewired socket and removable towbar. I will check further but the wires do seem to drop almost a little to the near side of the towbar. However I have had the rear polished steel trim out and there seemd to be a means of getting or fishing wires through. I would for peace of mind try to get the car on a lift and take a good look from underneath because there are no workshop [Hayns] manuals yet available for the W210.

A word of caution though, the electrics on these cars are very troublesome and you need to be careful to avoid causing surges or spikes when you are wiring this in. I am not sure how the extra current etc required for the socket/trailer lights affects the electrics, might be worth finding some of the others on the site, Geoff Fraser seems to be a good bet and getting some advice because if the electrics go wrong your worst nightmare has only just begun.

Thanks Olaf

My Dealer will only fit tow bar electrics by swapping out the entire rear wiring loom of the car from the C pillar backwards I think the Quote was Around £400.00 Which I thought crazy when a tow bar centre will fit one for £80.00

But if you are saying that the £80.00 solution could cause problems that cost more than the £320.00 I will save please give me some examples and I might give the dealer the job.

I was thinking of fitting a pulse sensing system my self, but if this interferes with the electics I wont
