Hello,

Never done it myself, but on cars I have had towbars fitted they have needed 7 or more by pass relay and the wires go from that to the lights / battery etc. The towbar lights can also have a seperate fuse. These modern cars are Too complecated for their own good wit hall the warning lights and buzers etc..

Also when they fitted a towbar to a Bmw I had they take two larger shock absorber type items that fitted behind the bumper (must act as a crumple type thing?)

When the towbar was fitted it fitted into these vacant holes. So if you just remove what you see you may actually make the rear not as strong if you are hit?

Think I would ring some companies and ask them how much to remove, it may only be about £50

Well I took the tow bar off the A class took about 2 hours start to finish as the rear bumper has to come off.
All the wiring was straight forward as they had clamped the wiring for the tow bar into the loom on the rear light unit.
Well impressed with the design and thought that MB out into the fitting of the bumper and all the fittings.

Anyway the tow bars for sale if anyone is interested, it will need to be collected as it is really heavy.
