What is the best way of splicing into the existing lighting.

I don't like scotchloks and my preference would be to cut the wires and then reconnect with butt connectors that are heat shrinkable to make them water tight, but don't want to upset the buld failure system

Thoughts :?:

There should be a special connector for your car, is it a 210226 car

Yes it is. whereabouts would the connector be and what would it look like :?:

But I have noticed in the fuse box (under seat) that there is no wire on the fuse side of no. 12 - trailer power supply

There is a special connector unit that plugs into the rear fuse box.

I will look it up in the morning

Thanks Malcolm,

Just waiting for the towbar to arrive
12N&S socket kit (with bypass relay) found in back of garage.

So hopefully with this connector, it'll save alot of grief, as long as MB aren't going to major stealers for this part.
