Hi,
I was wondering if its possible to retro fit the mercedes wiring kit to a towbar that has been fitted by a third party..
The Towbar is decent enough. Its a removeable Towsure bar but the fitter spliced into the original wires for the electrics.
Now it hasnt caused any problems but the fact I know about the spliceing is enough to play on my mind..
He did fit some sort of control box of tricks so I dont get false "Bulb Failure" notifications..
Assuming that I can fit the original loom then where will it plug into?
Lastly what sort of price is it likely to be for the loom?
My car is a W203 C270 CDI.
Thanks in advance,
S.

So it works OK and doesn't cause any problems? Why change it? If it ain't broke, don't fix it. :D

If it's not causing any problems I'd leave it alone. Even if you remove the splices you'll have to repair or replace the loom where they were. The repair would be no safer than the current splices (assuming they're OK to start with)
