They both let each other down, Toyota have been more than hopeless in the few years since they have been competing and Ralf who is actually quote a good driver has lost the will to live...

Healthy bank balance though....and a very rich brother...

I Agree, wot a complete wast of space. Ranks amongst the likes of coultard and button as also rans. never a chance of winning the title, just over paid hanger-on-ers.

Can't agree with you about Coulthard:
Has won 13 F1 races
Has led 60 grands prix
Has achieved 61 podium finishes
Has set 18 fastest race laps
Has scored 513 points. Based on points, he's the most successful British GP driver in the history of the sport.

As i said Never had a chance to win the title, and never manged to even beat his team mate.

I got so sick and tired of every single pre-season, listening to him harp on about how he had revaped himself only to deliver a medioca performance and get tramped by his team mates.

I'm no big DC fan, and I don't really know why I'm defending his reputation, but this just isn't true. 1997 Melbourne and Monza are just two occasions that spring to mind. DC won them both, Hakkinnen didn't, and didn't retire either. I'm sure there are other occasions if I could be bothered to look it up.
I don't think the statistics point to him being an also-ran.
He got third at Monaco. In a Red Bull. Kudos.

sorry but F1 is a farse just like football is , its degenerated into 'who can spend the most to win' syndrome , bring back the late 80's and early 90's . (just my personal view btw)

As good as any driver is, it's 75% car 25% driver. As good as Hamilton clearly is, put him in a Sliker or Toyota and he'd have been nowhere. Button is vastly better than his results show, but his car isn't in the running.
I imagine Button is seriously regretting his contract buy out from Williams!

I agree with you. I only watch the 1st couple of laps in F1 - usually the jockeying for position produces a little excitement. I try and catch the final 2/3 laps and as soon as the winner crosses the line - thats IT.

For close, exciting racing, I have switched to watching British Touring Cars. Oh, and WRC as well.

p.s. Whatever happened to Rallycross.???

Ralf Schumacher was comprehensively beaten by Jarno Trulli in qualifying throughout the season (I think there were only a few occasions where he was not).

Although Trulli finished with 8 points and Schumacher 5 points, really Ralf was nowhere.

But also Toyota has vastly under-performed with reputedly the second biggest budget. Even Red Bull scored more points.

He'll not be missed by me if he fails to drive in F1 again, which seems likely.
