Should a independant tyre shop be able to check/adjust steering geometry/wheel alignment on a MB? They have the Hunter 811 system and claim to have the full set of load cells and spacer bars for MB?

secondly, if load cells are needed to weight the vehicle, should the check be made with a full or empty fuel tank?

Well, I know that the general advice seems to be that a main dealer is needed for this, however I have just had my car's alignment set by a non-dealer chain *on the recommendation of local the MB dealership* because they don't have the equipment to set alignment on a MB!!! (They do however have a very shiny showroom and the customer service skills of Hitler's stormtroopers!)

Ironic eh?
