The car looses traction mainly first and second gear when I try to accelerate.

The tyres are good but of a cheep make. I wonder if this is the problem.

floor any cdi and the sudden surge of torque can break traction, especially in the wet. It may only be a 220cdi but the torque is the equivalent of a 4l petrol, delivered from 0mph rather than 30-40 as the petrol one would be.

I could light the bridgestones on mine up when I bought it. I now have budget federals and they're little different. If I need to get away in a hurry, I still floor it and just let the esp sort it out. It will spin but only for a second.

Cheap or budget tyres? There is a big difference - what's the make and what size?
