trailer hitch

I just bought an 07 320 Blu tech diesel. Is there easy access to a european factory spec trailer hitch for this model? The factory option code is 550. The unit is not available as an option in the U.S.. The option # was given to me by a european member of another forum. John

Note that Euro spec hitches have 50mm balls. These do not safely fit US spec 2" tow sockets.

Thanks for replying. Finding a proper fit for the chassis is my problem. I can have a proper ball machined easily or the tongue welded and retapped. John

When you state 'factory option' you would have only a choice between a fully retractable or a partly demountable towball. Neither would lend themselves to re-machining the ball diameter. Your best option would be for an aftermarket towbar which had the flanged on towball which you might then source in the US. I presume you are talking about the 07 320 E class? What difference there is in the rear chassis between this and the pre-facelift 211 I'm not sure.
