Hello All,

I'm not sure if some of you remember my posting from nearly a year ago where I discussed issues with my 2000 CLK 230 Kompressor ? .. Well, it's still off the road and now since it has been sitting, damp has got into the the gear position encoder PCB and fried it (for the 2nd time).

I have here a W210 unit, but the casing is too tall for my CLK W208 but (as I understand it) the PCB contained within the unit is the same, so my intention is to change the PCB and coat it with conformable coating to prevent recurrence.

Have any of you ultra clever people done this repair at all ? and is there anything that needs special care ? (such as a certain way of disassembly etc) or is it just a case of undoing the 4 security T25 screws and all plain sailing from there ?

Over to you good people and I await your responses

Kind Regards

I honestly can't advise you on this specifically, however I think it can be important to protect such things from static while working on them?
