I have a '97 S320 that has a transmission problem. From time to time, the transmission slips out of gear forcing me to pull off the highway. Once I get back to 2nd gear the transmission resets.
This typical happens between 2nd and 3rd gear, but its now happening between 3rd and 4th and 4th and 5th now. I use the lower gears to switch from gear to gear to prevent the problem. But if I keep it in 4th or 5th(D) it will slip, unless I pull off the gas a bit and allow it to shift.
What do I need to do to fix this problem?
