HI all..
Stupid question I know, but where is a good place to buy some travel blankets to keep in the car? I'm driving through Europe over Xmas and am just trying to be well prepared in case we get stuck somewhere.
Thanks, Geoff.

halford, argos and even mothercare! but checkout the local supermarket incase they have some. any car factors should have a few around altho they may have moved them into the back as they tend to be a summer thing.#

or a camp shop/outdoor place

HI..
Thanks, if I'd had enough coffee today I would have thought of all those places myself..
I bet the ones from Mothercare are lovely - I'm going to make that my first stop.
Cheers, Geoff.

Gooday,

As you should only need the blankets in an emergency have you thought of the aluminium foil ones used by the rescue services? These are compact and you could store 4/5 in the glove compartment. They are obtainable from good outdoor shops e.g. Milletts and I once saw them for sale in Aldi where we bought 2 sets specifically for the wifes car.

PS I'm sure they are reusable.

We've got several Mothercare blankets - fleecey and warm - perfect for wrapping up in, but make sure you get a big one!! Not bad value either IIRC.

Might be worth getting a proper travel blanket too with the waterproof backing on, in case you have to sit on cold floor rather than in the car. We paid about £5 from one of those bed linen shops, can't remember the name of it now though.

This is a very old thread, you must take into account global warming now ;):D and welcome to the forum

Better off in winter with a sleeping bag IMO.

You can get cheap sleeping bags from Tesco for as little as £10 and sometimes cheaper, they roll up into their own little bag and take up no room at all.
