You are probably right someone with a few more brain cells who can answer such mind boggling questions such as;
Can you get a height adjustable seat with that model ?
Can a space saver spare wheel be supplied ?
When can I get one ?

These are all incredibly difficult questions.

I would assume that the answers to 1 and 2 would be in the brochure (or am I making silly assumptions?).

Question 3 would require making a phone call which is far too easy for most people

If only, and unfortunately you are making the same assumptions we did.

I thought i might be, is it not possible to actually see one in the flesh and visually confirm

Hopefully not, the pure ineptness of sales people is simply staggering.

Why not put the make and model on here and see if someone knows the answers.

Height adjustable drivers seat is a £50 option on the "Pop", "Easy" & "Lounge". Just go to the Fiat website, then choose the Panda and Configure then you cna look at and choose all the options available

Really? How on earth does a business buy things without paying VAT?

When you buy items from another VAT registered business – they have to charge you VAT. But you can claim this back. Do you know anything?

It would take me far too many brain cells to explain but suffice to say the website, the brochure and the sales staff all have different scripts.

When you buy items from another VAT registered business – they have to charge you VAT.

Correct. So your original comment:

Remember, they will not pay VAT on buying a new car in

is wrong.

Futher:

...so why would they pay you more than the price of a new car to them when yours is now second hand?

is therefore wrong. The dealer cost has to include VAT.

He buys from MB UK for £30K net + VAT = £36000. He wants to make £2K net profit which is £2400 inc VAT so sells for £38,400.

If you decide you don't like the car and sell it back to the dealer he could decide that he can sell it again for £38,400 and he'd be happy to make £2K net again (under the margin scheme he pays VAT on the gross profit on used cars). So he could buy it back from you for £36000. Wow - the VAT's still there!

Of course the reality is that in most cases he couldn't sell the car for £38,400 so would want to buy it for less, but that's got nothing to do with VAT.

As mentioned earlier, if you were talking about the new model RangeRover, you could probably sell it back to the dealer at a premium. The price of used cars is down to supply and demand - VAT has nothing to do with it.
