I have a Mercedes C180 with black trim around the outside of the car (look at attachment), I was wondering if anyone knows how it is fixed on, clips or glue? Are they easy to remove and fit new ones? Also the same questions for the black trim at the bottom of the car as well.

Also, is de badging the merc a simple thing? is it just glued on? Would I have to get the bits resprayed if they were removed?

Edit: Would changing the trim and de badging count as an insurance modification?

i wouldnt do either, to make the car white like the photo you showed me on msn requires a whole body kit and is usually professionally fitted,

personally i would leave the car as it is and when it comes time to sell it you'll be glad you did, if you do want to invest in the cars looks, then buy REAL mercedes benz alloy wheels,

and keep the star as its the one thing you can see when driving that you sure won't see in a ford focus.

cheers

It looks good as it is - why spoil it??

As for de-badging, IMO I see it as someone who has the absolute base model - and doesn't want anyone to know that they can't afford the next one up........ or someone who has recently been to Liverpool

Ah, you are right! must admit I was back there at Christmas, and the buildings are looking great. Great City, 99% good people, and I left 35 years ago.

Good luck in Spain.
