Both of these trim parts on the back of the 172 have gone like this.
Has anyone had the same problem ?
Was thinking of taking it back to MB, to see if there’s any good will in replacement.

Not the greatest photo, but you can just see both sides are identical.

Good afternoon all, just an update on this problem.
Been to MB today, and these are trim parts not body, so only a 3 year warranty on these.
What has caused it is, when you fully lower the roof it rests on 2 round rubber supports.
Over time like any rubber part become hardened, so this explains the exact same problem either side.

Good news is they are only £29 a piece, which having purchased various bits of trim before I though was quite reasonable.
I went down the route of , if I purchase the said parts would MB fit them as a good will gesture ?
Unfortunately the answer was a firm No :(.
Apparently they slide onto lugs, and will probably break when removing old ones, so fitting new ones you only get one go at getting it correct.

So I think I’ll purchase the parts and have my Indy fit them for me next time it’s in there. :D
