Hi all,
I have a C220 CDI (W202 Yr 2000) Auto Estate and last night I pressed the trip counter reset to reset it back to 000.0 and what came up was the trip counter went to 000.7 and the mileometer went from 148379 to 14F379, as I drove the first 3 numbers on the trip counter moved correctly but the last number (the one after the decimal point) just alternated 1 & 7 as the mileage progressed, and the mileometer moved correctly apart from the F which should have been an 8. I tried the reset sequence for the 'reset service indicator' which is also the sequence for the 'malfunction in instrument cluster' and the mileometer went back to 148 instead of 14F so that was solved but the trip computer stayed the same with the number after the decimal point changing from a 1 to a 7 as each mile goes by and when I reset the trip counter is still goes to 000.7. its got me baffled. Any advice will be greatly appreciated as I use thr trip counter all the time to determine my fares as I use the car for Private Hire (Taxi) as well as for my own personal use. I hope someone out there has had something similar but with my luck I'm not holding my breath.
PS The first thing I tried was disconnecting and reconnecting the battery but that did nothing, although I haven't retried that since using the reset sequence. I will try that tomorrow.
