hello,
Has anyone fitted a Tuning Box unit (or any other type ) to a C class c220 cdi 143 BHP,if so what do you think of the difference in performance?
Do they really increase BHP and torque without damaging your cars diagnostics.
finally, is the Tuning box easy in connect and disconnect?
any useful information would be greatly appreciated.

Yes, I've had mine done and would recommend it unreservedly!

Was the company that did mine, if you give them a ring and ask for Rob, mention the forum, he may do a discount (did for me!)

The car is now noticeably quicker(overtaking is a dream), smoother and revs freely - the boost comes in very smoothly and builds tremendously. The only slight downside is a small increase in smoke under full throttle (you only notice at night with someones lights behind you). Even the insurance was barely affected (don't forget this bit!).

So I've now got a family estate that frightens sports cars  and still does 40mpg!

IMHO I would recommend the add on box, I'm looking for an ML270 next - my box will transfer to it with only a small software change. Superchips that Andy recommended have a very good reputation too so if you're going that route then definately use them.

Tuning

Hi Guys

Sorry to keep harping on but any engine mods done to engine hardware or software will invalidate your warrenty(if detected ) . Brabus do a tuning kit which is easy to fit and yes it does improve performance and yes it does invalidate your warrenty. The other side effect of these tuning chips is that the confuse engine ECU and when we come to diagnose a fault we find very strange actual values which makes diagnosis a nightmare

Thanks for the info piestore, you obviously speak from experience. Rob at DMS said the box was completely transparent to diagnostics, but now after your comment does that mean it's only transparent if nothing is wrong i.e. should I remove it if there's any problems/servicing required?

Thanks
