Will a Brabus D6 chip eliminate or reduce the turbo lag on my CLK 320 CDI?

I'm surprised you notice any lag, I certainly don't. However the D6 chip will improve the power across the rev range significantly increasing mid-range torque.

I chipped my ML270 for just that reason. Horrible lack of response in traffic situations like roundabouts where one has to "fill the gap" when it is available, not wait for a second for the car to decide to "go".

The chip completely fixed the problem along with more general power and torque. Highly reccommended - I didn't use a Brabus though. Just an Aussie homegrown one by Powerchip. Economy hasn't been noticeably affected.

mmm -
I would expect one to do great things on the 270cdi where turbo lag is certainly an issue. All 270 owners know the feeling of sitting with their foot on the floor and waiting for something to happen. (nice when it does though and a little anticipatiory pre-emptive action like hitting the throttle 1/2 a sec before you want to go does the trick for me).
However, I've driven the 320cdi V6 and its a totally different power curve. Where the 270's power comes in one huge but short dollop, the newer v6 is almost non turbo linear. In fact, I couldn't detect any turbo lag on the 320 so I do wonder whether, if this is an issue, you have a fault. It may be worth checking it out.

All that said, I'd imagine a chip would make it even better.

Certainly never been ang lag on my C320 Cdi. Not before nor after the Brabus box fitted.

The turbo kick in around 1700 rpm's I think so pretty low.

Rather than turbo lag I wonder if you're experiencing a delay in the autobox selecting a lower gear. An easy remedy is to hold the shift lever to the left before you wish to go, the box will shift into the best gear to tear the road up and when you press the pedal you will GO! No worries about it over-revving as it will shift up once it gets to the limiter (I believe...)

Thanks for that I'll give it a go when I get home.

Mine will shift up just before the red line even if I am still pushing the shift lever to the left, so no chance of over revving.

Does that work on all MBs.

Maybe I can get mine to go faster.

Tut, tut! Some people just aren't happy with what they've got.

To make yours faster you might need a rocket strapped to the boot? :)

The 55 engine is pretty tuneable IIRC, plenty of helen to get stuck in with.

The selector lever does work, but a 55 should have buttons behind the wheel so a low gear can be selected for "take off".

I think I need some practice with those.

Is it not fast enought already???

All things are there to improve upon.
