turn indicator earth fault ?

have a 1992 300SL24 R129. pride and up till now joy..when the indicator stalk is used all the dashboard lamps/gauges flash once on and off...the indicator then works as normal. The hazard switch works without setting off the instrument lamps. Am advised to fit a new hazard lamp relay (N10/2 relay ) but as it is so expensive dont want to spend my hard earned cash unless sure it is defi:Oops::Oops:natly that.Please help ..will be most appreciated by long haired pensioner living in South West France bwhere advice from Mercedes Dealer is difficult to get or understand.

First thing to do is to get some non drying switch cleaner and clean all of the fuses and relay pins (N10) if this does not help it looks more like a earth poor some where rather than the relay

After I mended my dash display my instruments did this when indicator was blinking so not too sure if this is a relay issue although my car is later?
