Hi all, can anyone tell me how difficult it is to adapt my comand system to show video on the move, not for me but for my wife as a passinger, we often go for long drives but I don't realy want to talk to her so I thought adapting my comand I could have peace!
I have a 2003 SL55.
Thanks

Short of somehow squashing her into the rear and fitting a screen in the back seat it cannot be done, no one will do it.

You will have to start thinking of switching over to digital soon

mmm... squashing her into the rear, sounds like a good idea! I will discuss this option with her.

with regards to digital, would it be possible to change the current analog TV tuner with a DTV one and still keep all of the voice comand and steering wheel functions?

To change to digital you can buy the Becker MB tuner at £600 or add a little domestic one for £30 like I have done.

For £600 you get to use the Comand controls to tune it, with the £30 version you use a little remote control.

There is no difference in the performance of either

Good morning Television, It I was to go for the £600 option is it a matter of plug and play?

Yes it comes plug and play, rather than a digital add on I think that the new ones are self standing in digital form only.

In your car it is dead easy, it sits under the cd changer box in the rear, I can give you the details of removing the panels, also easy and it just clips in next to the existing tuner.

You do not have to do anything up front

That sounds easy, I would like to directly replace the analoge tuner with the digital one, after doing so.. would be left with the same features avalible such as an extra video input for a DVd or something?

It does not matter what way you go with the works tuner, on your existing you have 2 AV inputs, if you have say AV1 selected, and you shut the car down, the next time that you start up it will come on in the AV1 mode so you just push the TV button and its there.

I have the latest EPC now and I will see how the tuners come
