Two car insurance

Hi, I've have a Mercedes 230CE 1990, which I use as a " classic" car, and another later car for every day use. I am the only driver of these - obviously can only drive one at a time. Quotes I am getting take no consideration of this, no claims ( many years ) can only be applied to one car. Can anyone guide me to an insurer that will deal with this situation in a " sensible " manner ( or is sensible and motor insurance a complete contradiction in terms? ) At the minute with one years ncb on the Mercedes I'm looking at £400 ish, which seems a lot for a classic car - which the Mercedes is acceptable as. Insurance and Dick Turpin go together very well ! I think you ought to try classic insurance for the older car. There's many classic specialists about Like Lancaster, Heritage etc. Good luck

You can only drive one at a time but thieves can drive both hense why the insurers will charge acordingly. I know admiral insurance do a decent multicar policy if you catch them on a good day, best way to get cost down is through low mileage,

Sky do have a reasonable rep with a few of the owners on the other forum I belong to.

Thanks to all for the help and suggestions. I am tied in with the RAC insurance until March who are completely unhelpful, wouldn't even suspend my insurance for a month while I changed vehicles, and have charged me the top rate on transfering to the" new " car, plus of course £25 for the priviledge of continuing as one of their customers Nothing too suprising there !!
Nearer the date I'll certainly get back to Chris Thanks to all again Jeff

All 4 of my cars are on separate policies, I've come across the same issues with no claims only being applied to 1 car. The Porsche has my highest no claims bonus then the VW, I was given an equivalent of 4 years no claims when I bought the smart and whilst the Land Rover has 0 no claims bonus I've managed to get it fully comp for £200.

I did find with my bikes that it wasn't much cheaper to have a multi-bike policy and when Claire started to ride I couldn't have a multi-bike policy anymore and when I separated the policies I had to start again with 0 no claims on one of them which was an expensive PITA.

If and when you are up for renewal, feel free to get in touch, we have an excellent family fleet policy which you may fit perfectly.

Thanks

AVIVA MULTICAR [ who underwrite MB,s own insurance] allowed me my full NCB on two vehicles. Shop around--- lots of insurance companies willing to offer multiple car deals nowadays.
