Hi
new to the forum and I could really do with some help and advice.
I have got a E320cdi which eats tyers at a reate which is breaking the bank; even faster that my better 1/2 can spend it.
I drive generally within the law and recently from carmarthen to Llandod returned 40mpg. I have had the steering/4wheel tracking done but still only get about 6k to a set of tyres I have tried toyos, bridgestones, verdstiens and the last lot were dunlops all have been 245/45/17
Any help suggestions would be most helpfull.

Hello tarian and welcome. Sorry to hear about your problem. There is a fair amount of information on the forum about tyres, types, preferences, people's experience. Use the "search" facility on the menu bar at the top of the page. The key words you choose will be picked out in red in the posts it selects for you.

I have had an E320CDI and now have an S 320CDI. I have had excellent tyre life from both, so it is possible. (E Class was 24,000 for rear tyres, 36,000 for fronts).

Which tyres are affected and is there a particular wear pattern?

Welcome to the forum.

The rubber must be going somewhere, look at the tread edges, is there any feathering, that is an upstanding edge on the inside or outside of the tread pattern.
