I am coming up to changing the tyres on my SLK 55 amg. The car currently has Continentals fitted. I am a big fan of Bridgestone tyres but I believe they don't do a size that fits the SLK and not being a big fan of Continentals I was wondering what other people fitted?

Do SLK 55's have a strange tyre size?
I'd be surprised if Bridgestone don't have a suitable tyre.
I changed my rear Conti's for Bridgestone and have no complaints, fronts will be done soon.

Not a big fan of Contis myself. Had them originally on car. Now got Pirelli Rossos which are quieter and offer better ride IMO. Also got a pair of Falkens in the garage to put on the rear next time which get excellent results in tests and very good value for money.

See here, here, and here for reviews.

I bought from Camskill after checking with my local tyre place how much they charge for fitting etc (£10+vat).

i have bridgestone re050 on my e55 amg kompressor, very good tyre, seem miles better than the standard conti's.
ive run the 050 on all my recent cars and love them, id definitely advise them,
the pirelli p-zero are a great tyre too, but i just dont like the look of them on the car, the sidewall just looks strange to me,

id recommend the bridgestone, you will not go far wrong,

Thanks for the advice guys, I had to go back to Conti's as my garage couldn't get any Bridgestones quickly enough. I was below the limit which will teach me to check more often. I will certainly do more research before getting the next set.

I have had Bridgestones on the last three cars I have had, a Toyota Supra and two Nissan 350;s and have never been dissapointed with them. The Nissans were returning over 25k miles which is pretty good,
