I think that the sprays of tyre shine are the best,as they do not look sticky or painted,it last well too, some of the paints used in showrooms looks awful more so when its all over the rim of the wheel

Bought a spray bottle of Simoniz tyre dressing yesterday, £3.99 from Halfords.
Never bothered with anything like that before, it works really well, my tyres have come up just like brand new!

I use the same (if it ever stops raining long enough to make it worth cleaning the car) BUT I've found that it comes off the tyres and splatters all up the side of the car. It ends up looking like you have a serious oil leak. My car is silver so it really stands out, especially if you've just washed the car too.

Just had a look at what I am using, its "Turtle Wax Wet N' Black " used it for years on my silver car and it does not come off. Its also good for other rubber parts of the car.
