How are your valve caps by the way  somehting else to go wrong as far as I'm concerned. Unless of course I had them then they would be an essential feature

In the handbook it say's Warning do not fit metal caps as they can corrode, what have I got on my car, metal caps so corroded that the end broke off one. I used a saw on the others then split them off. That's why in the picture in the Rust thread there is no valve cap fitted to the wheel. I will ask in the morning of the cost of one, bet it is £100 everything is.

The worst of it is the metal caps that were fitted were MB caps, identical to the ones on my new spare winter wheels. When I tried the other wheels, the display was flashing Check tyres, check tyres.

There is a small transmitter on each valve in the wheels, with the reciever in the car. you store the pressure from each wheel to the reciever. If one of the wheels deviates then the chime goes off in the car, "check front off side " .
you still have to blow the thing up or fix the pucture, not sure if it is a dealer retrofit.

Depends on which model it is on the C class it's based on the ABS wheel speed measurements. If there is a significant difference between wheel speeds (possibly due to deflation reducing the tyre radius) then it registers a warning.
