Hi,

I've been making sure I know all the noddy tech stuff for the SLK (1998) and have found the oil specs in the other threads (for which ta!) but I can't find the tyre pressures for the tyres, even searching this august forum.

It's got Falken ZIEX 512 225/45 R17 front and Avon ZZ3 245/40 ZR17 rear. Can anybody enlighten me as to the correct pressures?

I guess MB assume that one doesn't need to know these things as ones dealer will deal with all the messy mechanical stuff.......

You will find the tyre pressures inside your feul filler flap.

They are 30psi front 33psi rear from memory.

As Black, the tyres pressures stay the same irrespective of the tyres or wheels fitted

Thanks. I didn't notice the sign when I filled up the other day. Will pay more attention in future.

Off for a run. I should of guessed that roof-down motoring was unlikely in Glastonbury and Wimbledon weeks :-(

Irrelevant title, but hey! Well, in 2 weeks of ownership had the SLK roof down for 10 whole mins so far due to the poxy weather. It's actually sunny right now but Madam is still busy in the office so no doubt the yellow orb will disappear before we get to the car park. Been out for a few runs (only commuting in it this week) and all I can say is :) :) :) :)

0 to grin in no time at all! Bit tricky to get used to its cornering ability compared to the old diesel Discovery (new one is much better) and I have noticed the tyres tendency to rumble like mad on some surfaces and to follow the camber or lines in the road surface, but its point-and-squirt. Anyway, better half of a colleague here is buying one of those Nissan Figaro retro-wagons (1991) and its gonna cost nearly as much as the SLK and does less mpg!!!! Oh, that's thunder. :-(
