Hi all, I have recently bought a 2014 Mercedes 350SL (30k miles) Sport AMG which I love, however I can't live with the dreadful road noise which seems to be tyre related? They are Goodyear Eagle F1 which I understand are Run Flats, all in good condition with loads of tread but do I need to spend £££'s and replace with non Run Flats?
I welcome your thoughts as other than this really happy with everything else this model has to offer me.

Try Goodyear efficient grip in non run flats , sell yours on eBay .
What sizes are on at the moment ?
What pressures are you running ?

Short term fix crank up the Command so music overrides the road noise, longer term once tyres are worn replace with non runflat Pirelli or Michelin ps4.

Hi, Tyre sizes are 255/35/19's front and 285/30/19's rear. Have not checked pressure but the TPMS not on so I guess they are correct.

There is going to be increased noise ,simply because they are low profile wide tyres .
TPMS or not , if the pressures are higher than necessary there will be more noise .

I've found Continental SportContact 6 and 7 to be pretty good for noise (also very good for grip and wear).

That said I didn't think that Goodyear Eagle F1 were necessarily run-flats and in any case they tend to give a harder ride . Some tyres get louder as they wear.

When looking at replacements, any tyre aimed at fuel efficiency will have a lower rolling resistance and thus be quieter.

I would still manually check the tyre pressures. MB usually state that you can drop the pressures by a few psi for extra comfort and this may make them louder.
