tyre size advice

i have a 2003 c220 cdi salon, will i be able to fit alloy wheels and tyres size 235/40/18

for working out tyre sizes, a general rule of thumb, which seems to work in 99% of cases (ive only ever had 1 case it didnt work right on up to press) to keep speedos etc correct is to take the original tyre size. for every inch you increase the wheel diameter, decrease the "aspect ratio" by 5. same applies for width. 10mm wider = 5 off the aspect ratio. eg a 155/70 x 13 tyre becomes a 165/65 x 13 tyre, a 185/70 x 13 tyre becomes a 185/65 x 14 tyre which if enlarged again becomes a 205/50 x 15.

Or take the width say 175, take the height say50,, 275 x 50% = a tyre height of 87.5mm, by varying the width and height you can keep the wheel diameter the same

hi ,i would like to fit a set of 18 inh rims on my merk,and tyers 225/40/18,would they fit? right now i have 225/60/16.thanks .c320,52 plate
