I have 215/55/16 tyres has anyone gone to a 225/65/16 on the same rim ?
I have looked on the tyre charts and the difference is under 2% so I was wandering if anyone had had any problems ?

2005 CL500.
Do the sums. The tyre wall on the first is 55% of 215, and on the second is 65% of 225. How could that be only 2% difference?

The diameter of the 225 is 56mm greater. You have miscalculated somewhere.

2002 SL500, 216 CL500, all fully loaded
its more than that and far too big the 215 has a side wall of 118.25cm and the 225 is 146cm, you might get away with a 225 x 55 or 50 would be better

I used one of those Tyre companies on line calculators and they gave me 1.9%
Maths is something I haven't got.

I now realise my error both sizes are 55 profile and over 6% out I humble myself lower than a snakes belly
