Tyre Width? W203 C Class Estate

Hello, Apologies if this has been asked before, but I cannot find a link.

I am wondering what width tyres I can run on the W203 C320, front looks to have some room, but not sure if the back rims can handle much more than the crappy 205's currently on there.
I see the owners manual mentions 225s on the rear for winter driving, or maybe it was the AMG model which had these as standard.

Any info would help thanks.

What year, model and what wheels do you currently have on?

Mine has staggered set-up 17" rims with 225/45 on 7.5" fronts and 245/40 8.5" rears.

HI whitenemesis.
I am driving a 2001 C320 Estate.

Its got 205s on it with 16 inch rims. I will need to update this once I have gone back to my car later today for a wall height.
I seem to remember reading in the owners manual about the C320 AMG model having 235s on it.. but not sure if this model had same size wheel arches or not as the basic C320.

I believe the arches are the same across the range. The off-set on the wheels will be different though.
