Not needed yet, but after advice. Eventually, will be going from Runflat to conventional tyres.
Anyone else done the same, and what tyres are you running (E300) 19" 'staggered' set up.
Thanks in advance

Hi, have done this around 4 months ago, I would also recommend it, as many others do also. Definitely much improvement in comfort.

Mine are 20s, went with Michelin PS4s

For summer tyres I'm running Contintal SportContact 6s as then I can get the same make & model for all wheels. Just released SportContact 7, but not available in the size for my rear tyres.

I did this on the 207 when I bought it. What were on it were awful (Continental run flats as I recall) so I went to Goodyear F1 Asymmetrics and the difference in comfort and road noise was like night and day. Never looked back. The 213 has normal Continentals fitted and is OK.

+1 for the Goodyear Asymmetric 6 is the latest update in the Asymmetric range. I found Asda tyres or Camskill the cheapest, although you need to find your own fitter for Camskill.
255x35x19 and 285x30x19 should be the sizes.

Its been mentioned numerous times about ditching RF and going conventional for better ride quality.

I always try to go for lowest noise, best wet grip and better fuel efficiency in that order. Never a budget.

I have ditched the conti MO tyres on both my W205 and W251 as they were unbelievably noisy, crap in wet cf to others.

PZERO which i detested on my W220 are amazing on my w251.

Love a tyre thread

Its clearly horses for courses, I had P Zero's on an old W204 and I didn't like them. My main objection to them was they were very noisy :(

As do I. BUT the noise ratings don't always correspond to the perceived in-cabin noise. I've had 72db tyres which have sounded just as quiet as 68db tyres...

The tests are measuring EXTERNAL noise in a drive-past. It's an environmental noise pollution measure, not a guide to how much noise you will hear in the cabin.

I'm currently running Fulda Sport Control 2s. They are rated at 71db but review after review talked about how outstandingly quiet they are. In reality, they ARE comfortable and quiet, much better than the Continentals I had on the rear but no better than the Bridgestone Turanzas I had on the front.

I think you ought to be able to try out tyres for a fortnight before you buy...

The manufacturer noise and fuel efficiency information isn't accurate , much like real world tyre widths and aspect ratio's !

An ocean of real world data is available from tyrereviews .

Much better drive with non-runflats I did this with my B*W and the difference is night and day instead of bouncing from one bump in the road to the next the compliance of the tyre to the road surface is much much better especially with larger wheels and low profile tyres. The cynic in me thinks that MB and B*W dealers like these new out of town dealership locations with new roads for a reason.
