UHI pre-wiring

you should have a connection under a cover in the centre armrest where the phone cradle will go....it should be a plastic cover which pops off backwards, or towards the gearbox as it were, and it will expose a connection for the phone cradle which you will need to purchase to match your phone.

or does the menu on the dash board come up with phone off?

i would assume if the pre-wire hadnt been done that menu access would be disabled.

I've found the connection, do I now just need to buy the correct phone cradle for it to work through the Command system?

hi,
i have a clk 2003 coupe model (03-plate) and it doesnt have the pre wiring in the centre arm rest, but does have the telephone buttons on the steering wheel.
does anyone know if i need to have the UHI pre-wiring fitted and if so is this a big task?

Yes you do and it takes about 3 hours to install. Kit costs circa £450.
