Two cities in the UK are introducing Clean Air Zones in addition to London.

Bath from Monday 15th March 2021

Birmingham from Tuesday 1st June 2021

Enter your registration here to find out more:-

There will be further Clean Air Zones in the UK, but I think these are the only two coming into effect in the next 6 months.

I'm pleased that my SL350 & Discovery 4 are compliant & the two MGs are exempt.

My "lowest emission car for sale at the time" Smart For2 isn't... but my 911 is o_O

You could be confused and think it's about the environment, reading the headlines...

There's quite a bit more information on future CAZs here

There's a section of the M1 (~J33) by Sheffield where there is a 60mph speed limit "for air quality"
It is currently just 1 sign (it was a longer section in January) so drivers brake for the 60 limit then accelerate again for the next "national speed limit applies" sign... great for the environment that is...

Yay, so when I need to visit the office in Brum now, I get to clam an extra £8 per day for the clean air zone and privilege of using our company car park

I have found an interactive map, which is very useful here.

Map key:

caz-green-dot.jpg
Clean Air Zone expected or being planned

caz-yellow-dot.jpg
Area required by government to produce a CAZ plan

caz-red-dot.jpg
CAZ not expected or opposed by local authority

Environment killer

Won't anyone think of the children...
The air leaving one's big exhausty thingy is considerably cleaner than wot goes in that filterry thingy at the front , the diesel stuff fumey thing is clean enough to drink, honest , it's like a golden shower I think the technical term is guv

My most polluting cars are exempt, the cleanest I have to pay in both towns , however the SLK is exempt for both

Well Leeds is in the "Feck the environment we don't care" Category but I knew plans were afoot to create a CAZ and apparently "Leeds’ Clean Air Zone has achieved its aims early and is no longer required, joint review finds" So I'll be able to drive my polluting Euro IV Diesel around town without financial penalties, that is if I ever pluck up the courage to negotiate the ever changing and over complicated road network in there, I think it must have been designed by a paranoid schizophrenic who took turns in the road planning dep't!

Like Telford......series of roundabouts leading to a town centre which doesn't exist
Leeds really is something else indeed, the roads appear to change on an hourly basis
Never by the same way twice and that's a fact!
Couldn't agree more... I'd just about managed to get the same way out before I stopped going regularly
