UK Specialist database??

Just wondered whether anyone had considered creating a Merc Specialist database for the UK (or elsewhere for that matter)? Would be great if contacts could be shared via a postcode-based search facility given the only alternative is giving hard-earned dosh to local MB main dealer which isn't an option for many (am sure 000's of Mercs have been unnecessarily scrapped coz of huge repair quotes from MBUK). I'd offer to create it myself but don't have the know-how (I still try to feed my mouse bits of cheese)...

Often suggested. I think I raised this myself some time ago and I'm not the only one. Moderators what do you think?
Something organised by region, just as the photo section is by model?
There are enough posts 'looking for an indie' to justify it.
